Hemp is uniquely poised to become the world's top fiber for fabric and textiles over the next decade. In addition to its broad utility and vast range of end products, hemp can be easily integrated into most of our major domestic supply chains, and has been steadily increasing in demand and production, particularly hemp hurd which has only just recently been approved for animal bedding, and hemp lime-crete approved for building and construction.
Fabric and textiles unfortunately still must be primarily imported imported, as a domestic supply chain of hemp fiber mills have yet to be established for the scale needed. the positive side to limuted access is the huge demand and returned interest in hand-made textiles from home-spun fiber, and the rising interest and concern by consumers to buy local.
The demand for hemp is at an all time high and is only growing as more people learn about its incredible benefits to both people and planet. The global hemp clothing market reached a value of nearly USD 2.52 billion in 2022.
The market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 26.60% between 2023 and 2028 to reach a value of around USD 10.38 billion by 2028.
